Issaquena County Release Records
One address can produce two very different Issaquena County release paths. Issaquena County Correctional Facility is a regional correctional facility run under county authority through an agreement with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. It holds both pretrial county detainees and convicted state inmates. A county detainee may leave on bond, after dismissal, by court order, or after time served. An MDOC prisoner may transfer within the state system, leave secure custody on parole or earned-release supervision, or reach maximum discharge. The first task is to learn which authority held the person.
A released person will often disappear from an active custody view. That absence is not proof of community release. It can reflect a transfer, a record update, or a change from county booking status to MDOC custody. The release record is therefore a set of linked records. The booking sheet records the physical exit or movement. A court order gives the legal basis. An MDOC time sheet shows state sentence calculations. A discharge certificate confirms the end of MDOC custody, while a parole or earned-release supervision record shows that state control continues in the community.
Issaquena County Release Types
The recorded reason for departure controls where to look next. Issaquena County has not published a local release-code manual, so a requester should not assume which label staff use. Ask for the exact release, disposition, or movement entry and whether the person went into the community or to another agency. These distinctions keep a bond-out from being mistaken for a finished case and a state transfer from being called a release.
| Release or movement | Meaning and next record |
|---|---|
| Bond | Conditional pretrial release. Check the court docket and confirm the physical exit with the facility. |
| Dismissal or court order | The court supplies the legal basis, while the facility confirms when processing ended. |
| Time served | The custodial term was credited as complete. Match the booking record to the sentencing and jail-credit entries. |
| Transfer | The person left one custodian but may still be confined by MDOC, another county, federal authorities, or ICE. |
| Parole or ERS | Secure confinement ended, but conditional MDOC supervision continues in the community. |
| Maximum discharge | The MDOC custodial sentence reached its endpoint. Confirm it with the discharge certificate or Records Department. |
A parole release is not the same as probation. Parole follows a prison term and depends on a Parole Board action. Probation is a court-ordered sentence or sentence component supervised in the community. Earned-release supervision, often called ERS, is a conditional release under which the person keeps inmate status and stays under MDOC jurisdiction. A detainer is a request by another authority to hold or take custody of someone. Each term points to a different source.
Issaquena County Release Record Fields
No single Issaquena County certificate contains every relevant fact. A focused request should seek the existing records that establish identity, custody, departure, and the legal result. The county booking schedule describes records that may include identifying details, commitment information, charges or warrants, time to serve, fines and costs, jail fees, and discharge data. It does not promise that every field appears on each local booking sheet.
| Field or document | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | Connect the release record to the right person and reduce same-name mistakes. |
| Booking or MDOC number | Distinguish a county booking from a state sentence record. |
| Commitment or entry date | Shows when that custody episode began. |
| Release date and time | Records the physical exit when the custodian maintains that field. |
| Disposition or movement code | May distinguish bond, court release, discharge, or transfer. |
| Court order | Explains the legal event that authorized release or continued custody. |
| Time sheet or discharge certificate | Shows MDOC sentence computation and confirms state discharge. |
VINE is useful evidence of a status change received from a reporting agency, but it is not the final legal record. Likewise, a bond order may authorize release before the facility completes exit steps. Strong verification pairs the custodian's release entry with the court order or MDOC action that explains it. Ask whether any transfer followed. If part of a record is withheld, seek the nonexempt portions and the statute used for the redaction.
Request Issaquena County Release Records
Issaquena County does not publish a sheriff records-request form or local fee schedule. Send a focused written request to the Issaquena County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 147, Mayersville, MS 39113, or ask about sending it by fax at 662-873-4500. The office telephone is 662-873-2781. State-sentence records use a separate route. MDOC requires formal written requests through its GovQA public-record portal, not a telephone request.
- Give the full legal name, date of birth, known booking or MDOC number, facility, and a narrow date range.
- Request the booking sheet, release date and time, release or movement code, nonexempt transfer details, and any exit acknowledgment.
- For an MDOC case, ask for the time sheet, jail-credit calculation, status history, release action, and discharge certificate.
- Ask for electronic copies and all segregable, nonexempt portions. Request a cost estimate before work starts.
- If material is denied, ask for a written response that identifies the exemption used for each withheld part.
MDOC lists copies at $0.15 per page. Work above the first hour may be billed at the lowest-paid qualified employee's rate, and actual mailing or technology costs may apply. No comparable Issaquena sheriff schedule was found, so ask for itemized actual costs. Mississippi law generally calls for production or denial within seven working days when procedures exist. A delay beyond that point must be explained in writing, and the general outside date is fourteen working days unless the requester agrees otherwise.
County booking records are retained for ten years after release under schedule GSC 08-23. This is a file-retention period, not an online posting promise. MDOC's inmate master file has a broader and permanent archival framework. An old Issaquena County release may therefore require a direct request even after all public search results have vanished.
Note: Ask for records that already exist because an agency need not create a new release summary or answer open-ended questions.
Issaquena County Release Records Law
The Mississippi Public Records Act, Miss. Code §§ 25-61-1 et seq., governs state and local agency records. Section 25-61-3 broadly defines public records, including documentary materials and photographs kept for public business. Section 25-61-5 addresses access and timing. Section 25-61-7 limits fees to actual cost, while Section 25-61-12 separates exempt investigative reports from public incident-report information. Victim data, investigative details, sealed material, juvenile records, and other protected content may still be withheld or redacted.
A narrow request is more useful than a demand for an entire file. Ask for final, noninvestigative release fields and the legal basis for each withheld part. When nonexempt material can be separated from exempt text, request that segregable portion. Mississippi Ethics Commission review is an available route for a Public Records Act dispute. The law creates access to existing records, but it does not require a sheriff to maintain an online release feed.
Expunged Issaquena County Release Records
Miss. Code § 99-19-71(4) provides an arrest-case expungement route, on petition, when a person was released and the case was dismissed, charges were dropped, no disposition was made, or the person was acquitted. Expungement means a qualifying public record is removed or restricted under a court order. Other misdemeanor and felony paths have distinct conditions, exclusions, and waiting rules. A missing public index after expungement should be respected.
An Issaquena County release search gap can also result from a name mismatch, limited system scope, or a transfer. It is not proof that the arrest never occurred, and it is not proof that a search tool failed. Follow the court order and the record custodian. For a felony matter, the final judgment, bond order, dismissal, sentencing entry, revocation, and jail-credit entries can show the case result when those records remain public.
Issaquena County Release Custody Paths
Legal custody matters more than the street address. The regional facility has one campus but serves two systems. A locally booked detainee may have a county booking number and a pending court case. A convicted state prisoner has an MDOC number and a state time calculation. The person may shift from county status into MDOC status without leaving the same physical building, or transfer within MDOC after leaving Issaquena County.
Ask facility staff whether the record was local, state, or a transfer hold. Then use the right number. For a county detainee, pair the facility record with the responsible court. For a state inmate, use MDOC Inmate Search, Parolee Search, and Records. Parole and ERS release a person from secure custody while keeping state jurisdiction. Only a confirmed maximum discharge establishes the end of that custodial sentence.
Find Issaquena County Released Inmates
There is no verified official Issaquena County roster, recent-release page, 24-hour feed, or 72-hour feed. A named-person search must therefore begin with the last custodian rather than a public county list. Use a full name, birth date, and any booking or MDOC number. A quick view of Issaquena releases from the last 24 hours still relies on direct confirmation because no official same-day feed was found.
- Call Issaquena County Correctional Facility at 662-873-2153. Ask whether the person remains there, entered the community, or moved to another agency.
- Check the proper court docket and read the final order. A charge alone does not show the outcome.
- For a state sentence, search by MDOC ID or name. Review the location and Tentative Release Date, then try Parolee Search.
- Use MS SAVIN or VINELink for the reporting agency's custody status and alerts. Confirm any alert with the custodian.
- Use BOP or ICE only when facts point to federal or immigration custody. Their results do not cover county or state custody.
- For a past release, request the booking record, court order, or MDOC discharge record in writing.
A disappearance remains ambiguous until the next status is known. It could mean community release, an internal record change, transfer, parole, ERS, or another hold. The most reliable search follows the person from one named custodian to the next. Records from different systems should agree on identity, dates, and the legal event before the release is treated as confirmed.
MDOC Issaquena County Release Search
The MDOC Inmate Search accepts first name, last name, or MDOC ID number. The ID is the best first choice because it reduces same-name errors. Open the result and compare date of birth, county of conviction, offense, sentence date, sentence length, current location, and location-change date. The exact planning field is “Tentative Release Date.” It is an expected date adjusted for earned time and credit for time served, not proof that release occurred.
The official search form shows the available entry fields:
| Search field | How to use it |
|---|---|
| First name | Use with last name when the MDOC ID is unknown. |
| Last name | Check spelling and compare all identifying fields in the result. |
| MDOC ID number | Use this when known for the strongest match. |
The public page is an active inmate search. MDOC does not promise it as a permanent archive of discharged people. If a former state inmate disappears, try Parolee Search and contact MDOC Records for the time sheet, status history, and discharge certificate. A location of “ISSAQUENA CCF” means MDOC custody at the regional facility. It does not identify a locally booked pretrial detainee.
The official MDOC search form shows the fields used for an Issaquena state-inmate lookup.
The image documents the state search entry point, not a county release list or permanent discharge archive.
Issaquena County Court Release Orders
Issaquena County Circuit Court has used Ninth Circuit MEC since July 23, 2018. Its docket may explain why custody should end, but it does not replace confirmation that the facility completed the release. A bond order permits conditional release while a case continues. A dismissal or acquittal resolves a case, yet the actual exit time still belongs to the custodian's record. A sentence question may require the sentencing order, jail-credit entries, and an MDOC time sheet.
Start with the case type. Circuit Court handles felony matters, while Justice Court commonly handles initial, misdemeanor, and traffic matters. Issaquena also shares the Ninth Circuit District with Sharkey and Warren, so the county of arrest alone does not prove which court holds every record. The official Circuit Court contact is 129 Court Street, Mayersville, MS 39113, 662-873-2761, with listed hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Ninth Circuit MEC information page identifies Issaquena's court access point and clerk details.
That court source helps locate the legal order, while the facility remains the source for the physical release event.
Issaquena County Post-Release Supervision
The Mississippi State Parole Board makes parole decisions. MDOC Community Corrections supervises people after release. Search the separate MDOC Parolee Search by MDOC ID when possible, or by first and last name with city or county. Issaquena appears as a county choice. Treat a match as a supervision lead because MDOC does not describe the public tool as a full probation, ERS, absconder, or discharged-person archive.
No Issaquena-named probation and parole office appears in MDOC's directory. The official Washington Probation and Parole Office in Greenville is nearby, but its page does not state that it handles Issaquena cases. Call MDOC to confirm the assigned unit before traveling. A missing parolee result does not prove that supervision ended or that the person absconded. The sentence, court or Board action, discharge record, and assigned agent determine the current status.
Parole, probation, ERS, absconder status, and discharge are distinct. An absconder has stopped complying with supervision or cannot be located by the supervising agency; absconding is not a discharge. More detail on verification appears in the Issaquena County parole and probation resource.
Issaquena County Release Status Alerts
MS SAVIN uses VINE and VINELink for county and state offender status notices from participating agency data. Select Mississippi, choose “Find an Offender,” and search one person by name or ID. Compare the reporting agency and identifying details. A released or out-of-custody result shows that the person left that reporting custodian. Another agency may still hold the person.
Notifications can cover release, transfer or a facility move, temporary movement, escape, supervision absconding, and return from abscond status. Registration may require a delivery destination and four-digit PIN or confirmation step. Available methods can vary. MDOC advises confirming an automated notice because fast or repeated moves may trigger more than one alert. MS SAVIN can be reached at 601-359-5759 during business hours or 1-888-967-7284 at any time.
Note: A VINE alert reports a source-agency status change and should be checked against the facility, court, or MDOC record.
ICE and Issaquena County Releases
An Issaquena County facility disappearance followed by an ICE match may show an immigration transfer, not community release. The ICE Online Detainee Locator covers current ICE detention, qualifying CBP custody, and, according to ICE, people released from ICE custody within the prior 60 days. Search with an exact nine-digit A-number plus country of birth, or exact name and country of birth with an optional birth date.
An ICE result addresses ICE custody only. It does not resolve county, MDOC, or federal prison status. Likewise, “released from ICE” may involve ongoing conditions. For help, ICE lists its Detention Reporting and Information Line at 1-888-351-4024. The locator does not search minors, and surname punctuation should be preserved. Ask the Issaquena facility which agency received the person before treating a local absence as release.
Other Issaquena County Release Searches
Use the BOP Inmate Locator only for a federal prison path. It covers federal prisoners from 1982 forward and can show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” with a release date. Search by federal identifier or by name with age, race, and sex refiners. Those labels do not rule out custody in another system or federal supervised release. U.S. Marshals pretrial history has no similar public release locator and may require a focused federal records request.
The Mississippi Sex Offender Registry is also narrow. It applies only to qualifying registrants and may show a photograph, aliases, residence, conviction date, and qualifying offense. A nonmatch says nothing about the general released population. DPS also warns that firm identity requires fingerprint comparison. Use it only when the specific registration law is relevant, not as a broad Issaquena County released inmate list.
Getting Home After Issaquena County Release
Travel planning differs by custody track. For an MDOC state release, the department says a case manager verifies the travel plan. If the inmate requests bus travel, MDOC may buy an in-state ticket to the destination or nearest city, but not for out-of-state travel. State materials identify Delta Rides as serving Issaquena County, yet no official source promises a stop at the regional facility or same-day pickup.
Call the facility and the transport provider before setting out. No official local source publishes routine release times, weekend rules, the exit door, a family waiting area, or a bus pickup point. These state practices should not be applied to a county bond-out. A locally booked person may need a separate pickup plan coordinated with the facility after staff confirm the likely exit time.
Issaquena County Release ID and Property
MDOC says eligible state inmates may receive help obtaining state identification or license documents before release. It also says release funds are supplied at release but not as cash, and funds follow an inmate who transfers. Those policies concern MDOC prisoners. No Issaquena source confirms the same process for a local detainee, and no published local property-return protocol was found.
Ask the facility about identification, personal property, and any acknowledgment signed at exit. If a record is wrong, send the correction to the office that owns it. Facility or sheriff staff handle county booking entries. MDOC Records handles time computation and state status. The clerk handles the court docket. DPS handles registry data. This source-by-source approach is more effective than asking one office to change another agency's file.
Issaquena County Release Reentry Route
No separate Issaquena County reentry office was found. State prisoners at the regional facility may use MDOC reentry documentation and resources, including preparation for identification and other practical documents before release. That statewide route applies to the MDOC population and should not be promised to someone leaving local pretrial custody on bond.
A person moving onto parole or ERS should confirm the assigned Community Corrections office and reporting directions before travel. The nearby Greenville office may be relevant, but its official page does not expressly claim Issaquena coverage. A local detainee should instead ask facility staff and the court about the terms attached to release. Matching services to legal status avoids sending someone to the wrong office.
Issaquena County Facility Release History
Older search results can create a false closure lead. The regional facility opened in 1997 and faced a county closure decision in December 2019 amid financial problems. It remains in MDOC's current facility directory, and a September 2025 fact sheet reported a one-month snapshot of 312 people against capacity of 328. Those figures describe operations, not annual bookings or releases.
Current records may use Issaquena County Correctional Facility, while older sources may say Issaquena County Regional Correctional Facility. Use both names when searching historical files, but keep the present official name in a request. The history matters because stale pages can make a real custodian seem unavailable. Confirm the current office directly before assuming that old closure coverage ended the facility's role.
Issaquena County Release Facility
Issaquena County Correctional Facility is the only documented detention campus in the county. It is at 22746 MS-1, Mayersville, MS 39113, with mailing address P.O. Box 220 and telephone 662-873-2153. No separate municipal jail, state prison campus, federal prison, or dedicated ICE detention center was verified within Issaquena County.
The official facility source shows its regional role and contact information.
For a county detainee, ask the facility for release or transfer status and pair it with the court record. For an MDOC inmate, use the state search and Records Department. The shared building does not merge those two legal records.
